Monet

For my color photography class we learned about how Monet would paint the same building at different times during the days to show the different moods, colors and such. So our assignment was to photograph someplace for three hours. The minimum numbers of photos that I needed was 12 but watching everybody climb instead of being apart of it was a totally different experience. There where so many different little dramas that I would never have noticed otherwise, like the woman in the purple shirt, she and her husband would climb to the top and then double repel down instead of being lowered down (which is what most people do). They felt it was more fun and they like being in control of how fast they went. But on her second time up she dropped her ATC (the device used to repel), and for a moment you could feel the "uh no!" tension in the air. She was 60 feet up and tied into the anchors and so there was no one was on belay and for a moment I was scared for her, scared that she might fall. But her husband rushed over and clipped into the rope so that he was on belay. She got down safely but my group climbing right next to them never even knew what they had missed it. Needless to say, it was an interesting day.

As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.

Playing around in Photoshop. This is the original and this... ...is after I added a LOT of black to the picture.
Part of my photography classes is learning to use bridge which is a program that is part of photoshop. P.S mom I haven't forgotten to look for that program in the bookstore. Just haven't been able to make it to make it over there yet.
