Scan-O-Graphs

This is a scan-o-graph. It's basically using a scanner as a camera. So all I did was place some random items (top one) some of my patches (middle one) and some of my stickers (bottom one) and scan them into the computer. If you want to learn more I would suggest looking up Maggie Taylor, it's what she does.

Day 13 of photo journal

My beautiful road bike by the canal that's next to our apartments.
My cool little computer I got to keep track of how many miles I go.

Today is the final day for the photo journal and it's been really fun, I enjoyed it. I went for a short ride this evening, up past the temple, down poleline rd and past Sugar City's cemetery and on down Barney Dairy rd. It was a 14 mile loop with some really nice downhills and a couple not so bad uphills.

Day 11 of photo journal

I rode in my first ever road bike race!!!!!!
A fellow classmate and friend, George, did the race also. (maynor took this) We started at Gilmore Summit and rode to Salmon, 65 miles away. Luckily it was mostly down hill. :) It was really overcast, we were lucky though cause it didn't rain until after the race was over. It took George and I almost 4 hours to finish. Our teacher Scott Wood and two of his kids did the century ride. They looked tired. Salmon is a gorgeous area and biking through it was amazing! We got done at a little before 1 and the BBQ didn't start until 4 so we killed some time at the car show. To bad none of us like cars... All in all it was a great day.

Day 10 of photo journal

Our fearless leader, Scott Wood.
Brian Williams, owner and founder of Kelson Custom Bikes.

So part of our Friday road biking group is participating in the Lemhi Valley Century tomorrow so instead of riding today we went and saw Brian Williams. Brian builds custom bikes. It's pretty cool how he does it, I wish I could afford one.

Day 8 of photo journal

I had the Outdoor Resource Center (ORC) give my bike a tune up on Sat. and they somehow put a dent in my bike. I think they might have dropped a canoe on it. Anyway they said they would fix it which is cool.

Day 7 of photo journal

Umm...okay.
Really? Isn't there enough water on the ground already?
Slightly out of place.

I'm a student director with Outdoor Activities and one of the events I'm over is Stargazing. It happens every Saturday night at 9pm, we take you out somewhere where it's dark so you can see the stars (has yet to happen due to weather) and while we are there we make dutch oven cobblers and homemade ice cream. We had a slight problem with the ice cream last Saturday, we somehow lost the crank (the part that keeps the barrel in place while spinning the blades on the inside). We've checked everywhere. Can't find it. I decided to check out the last place we had it, Eagle Rock Park or whatever it's called. Only I didn't know which campsite they had used so I just checked all 23 sites. So fun. At least it wasn't raining.

Day 6 of photo journal

It rained again today, just like yesterday and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and...you get the picture. It isn't typical Idaho weather but everything is green so I'm not really complaining. It's just annoying to have to ride your bike in the rain.
I know this is a cell phone picture but I had permission to post it. This is my dad, we skyped this morning at 6am. You see, he's in Beijing China and there's a 14 hour difference so it was 8pm his time, he thought I was awake. We had a great time, I love talking to him, he even explained why we were having such weird weather. It's the La Nina effect, apparently we have some cold water in the pacific ocean which is causing all the rain. Oh joy! Anyway, I miss you dad, hope you got a good night sleep.

Day 4 of photo journal

So we went to Box Canyon again, amazing! I love climbing there the rock is super grippy! So the first two photos are of my husband, Maynor, leading climbing Wish List. The bottom photo is of this really cool moss that I saw growing on the rock, so spongy.

Day 3 of photo journal

I love Fridays because I get to meet up with a group of friends and we all go for a ride, it's awesome. We went 42 miles! Thank goodness the wind wasn't that bad today!

Day 2 of photo journal

I don't know where this tape measure came from but it has been useful a couple of times which is why we haven't thrown it away.

First day of Photo Journal

For my color photography class I have to do a photo journal where I post a photo a day for two weeks accompanied by a short explanation or sentence of the photo. So here goes... ...This is a gypsy rose that Brother Wescott taught me how to make in my tradition camping class.

HDR

HDR=three or more combined photos. One (or two) under exposed, one done correctly and one (or two) over exposed. By having the over and under exposed photes it allows you to capture the shadows as well as the highlights like clouds.
